HIGHLIGHTS
South Side 1, Wantagh 0: Ally Diez's corner kick was headed in by Lindsay Tighe with 21:16 remaining to lift No. 3 South Side over No. 2 Wantagh in the Nassau Class A semifinals at Cold Spring Harbor High School. Kayla Klarides made 11 saves, including a catch on a line drive after a free kick from the corner of the box with seconds left. Klarides also made a leaping stop on a free kick from 34 yards out with 33 minutes remaining. A scramble ensued on the rebound and, with the net empty, Allison Mahoney saved a goal with a header to keep the game scoreless. South Side (8-4-4), the defending county champion, advances to play top-seeded Garden City in the county championship game on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Cold Spring Harbor High School.
