HIGHLIGHTS
Hicksville 2, East Meadow 1: Freshman Danielle Jonas scored on a direct kick from just outside the 18-yard box with 3:13 remaining in the second overtime to lead No. 6 Hicksville (8-6-4) over No. 2 East Meadow in the Class AA semifinal. Jonas also scored the winner in a 1-0 win in the quarterfinals against Calhoun on Wednesday. Sabrina Adamo carried the ball down the ride side and blasted a shot from 25 yards out that caromed off a defender and into the goal to tie the score at 1 with 18 minutes left in regulation. Alexa Higgins made eight saves, including a stop on a line drive late in regulation to keep the score tied at 1. Megan Bender scored to give East Meadow a 1-0 lead on a header with 15 minutes to go in the half. Hicksville advances to play No. 1 Massapequa on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Mitchel Athletic Complex.
