Newfield 3, West Islip 2: Oscar Moreno's goal on a half-volley from 20 yards out in the 35th minute gave No. 2 Newfield a 3-1 lead over No. 4 West Islip in the semifinals of the Class AA playoffs. Sonny Farrell opened scoring in the sixth minute and Steven Branco had a goal and an assist. Chris Cusimano made four saves. Newfield (16-0) will face top- seeded Commack 7:30 Saturday at Diamond in the Pines in Coram in the Class AA finals.
