HIGHLIGHTS
Kings Park 4, Miller Place 0: Miller Place's boys soccer team hosted the inaugural "Play for Andrew" game Thursday against Kings Park. The program celebrated the life of Andrew Salgado, who died in an accident while riding his bike last spring after spending the fall as an eighth grader on the varsity soccer team. Miller Place's players have been wearing blue armbands throughout the season to honor him. "There was a wave of blue in the stands, which was awesome," Miller Place coach Thomas Fank said. "The kids came out in a really big way, the community came out. The whole stands were full in the stadium, which is rare for a soccer game at a small school like that to have that many people come out." Kings Park earned a 4-0 win over Miller Place in Suffolk's League V, clinching a playoff berth. Joe Dempsey scored twice for the Kingsmen (9-4). Chris Mylett Jr. had four saves, and Spencer Rock saved two shots for Miller Place (2-9-1).
