HIGHLIGHTS
Southold 5, Pierson/Bridgehampton 2: Drew Sacher scored a hat-trick to lead No. 2 Southold (11-4-1) over No. 1 Pierson/Bridgehampton (10-4-2) at Diamond in the Pine in Coram, making the Settlers champions in Suffolk Class C. Sacher received a through ball from Joseph Worysz with 31 minutes remaining, to tie the game 1-1. "I think this was the best game Drew has had all season," coach Andrew Sadowski said. Worysz's second assist came during the last goal of the game, when he played a cross in front of the net for Peter Fouchet, who knocked it in with the goaltender rapidly approaching, giving Southold a 5-1 lead with seven minutes remaining. "He really stepped up today," Sadowski said. "He worked hard, won balls, I couldn't ask for anything more out of him today." Jack Dunne recorded one goal. Goaltender John Charles Funke recorded three saves. This is Southold's first championship title since 2008. "I'm very pleased with the way they executed our game plan. The team played very well." Sadowski said.
