Valley Stream North 35, East Rockaway 12: Pat Brady opened holes on the offensive line for an explosive running effort as Valley Stream North (1-1) scored 21 unanswered points in the second half and defeated East Rockaway (0-2) in Conference IV. After Valley Stream North led 14-12 at halftime, Brian Carroll ran for a 3-yard touchdown with less than five minutes left in the third to give VSN a 20-12 lead. Carroll rushed for 111 yards on 16 carries with two touchdowns. Mike DiRico rushed for 85 yards on seven carries with two touchdowns. In addition to blocking, Brady also led the defense with 11 tackles and two sacks.
