HIGHLIGHTS
Roosevelt 35, North Shore 14: Johnnie Akins ran for 326 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries to lead Roosevelt (2-0) over North Shore (1-1) in Conference IV. After North Shore's Michael Floccari connected with Nick Daley for a 40-yard touchdown pass to trim Roosevelt's lead to 14-7, Akins broke free on the outside and cut back in for a 69-yard touchdown run with 50 seconds remaining in the half to make it 22-7. On Roosevelt's first offensive play of the third quarter he ran for a 55-yard TD. Shamari Kirkpatrick ran for 49 yards on 7 carries, including a 16-yard TD run in the second quarter for a 14-0 lead. Raymond Jones had two sacks and Rob Hanson had four tackles.
