Smithtown West 16, Centereach 13: Garrett Brunsvold scored on a 29-yard rush with 6:30 left in the fourth quarter to lead Smithtown West (2-2) in Suffolk II. Brunsvold's score capped a four-minute, 90-yard drive that included a 21-yard completion from Danny Caroussos to Mike Alfano that brought Smithtown West to the Centereach 30 yardline. Smithtown West trailed 13-0 at halftime. Late in the third quarter, Caroussos completed a 70-yard pass to Alfano that brought Smithtown West to the Centereach 10. On the next play, Caroussos scored on a 10-yard rush and the ensuing two-point conversion cut the Centereach lead to 13-8. Smithtown West defensive end Austin Biardi had two sacks, a fumble recovery, a forced fumble, and seven tackles, and Brunsvold had 89 yards on 16 carries.
