Mepham 22, New Hyde Park 18: Owen Heller had the winning 9-yard touchdown run in the third quarter as visiting Mepham defeated New Hyde Park, 22-18, in Nassau Conference II football on Saturday. Heller's touchdown, followed by Ryan Bayer's PAT, were the game's final points. After trailing 18-7 in the second quarter, Owen connected with Tyler Rannacher for a 50-yard touchdown before halftime and after Heller found Matthew Biscardi for the ensuing two-point conversion, Mepham cut New Hyde Park's lead to 18-15 before the end of the quarter. Heller finished with 218 passing yards and two touchdowns and 73 rushing yards with a score for Mepham (5-1). Nicky Gampero had two receptions for 103 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown from Heller. Rannacher had three receptions for 80 yards. Andrew Nottine threw three touchdown passes and Tito Ruiz had two touchdown receptions for New Hyde Park (3-3).
