Newfield 31, Huntington 23: Branden McDaniels had two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown while Matthew Evers threw for 169 yards and two touchdowns to lead Newfield (2-0) in Suffolk II. In the fourth quarter, Max Chery and David Spooner helped engineer a pair of goal-line stands in the fourth quarter by the Newfield defense. Spooner also rushed for a touchdown and a two-point conversion. Jacob Guzik threw two touchdown passes to Jack Kamenstein for Huntington (0-2).
