Whitman 22, Bay Shore 7: Xavier Ali opened the scoring with a sack in the end zone resulting in a safety and finished with 11 tackles, three sacks and four tackles for loss to lead Whitman in its Suffolk I opener. Ryan Downes rushed for 109 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown. Jonas Templeton had 79 yards on 15 carries. Dylan Kollmer went 7-for-13 for 104 yards and a touchdown to Aiden Jorgensen. Downes and Joshir Lyons each had an interception and Matt Gervasio added 12 tackles. Mike Mannino made two field goals of 46 and 21 yards and kicked two extra points.
