Ward Melville vs Sachem North

Sachem North 27, Ward Melville 21: Lucas Singleton scored the winning 6-yard touchdown with 2:13 remaining to lead host No. 2 Sachem North over No. 3 Ward Melville in the Suffolk Division I football semifinals Friday night. Singleton had 22 carries for 123 yards, and two touchdowns, including a 79-yard score on the first play of the second half to give Sachem North a 21-14 lead. Dan Brausch rushed for a tying 2-yard TD early in the fourth quarter for Ward Melville. Ethan Burgos rushed for two touchdowns as the Patriots finished 7-3. Singleton added four receptions for 39 yards as Anthony Vino completed 10 of 14 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns for Sachem North (8-2). Shane Reilly caught a 36-yard TD and Brayden Tappin caught a 40-yard score. Christopher Lombardo had nine tackles, Nasir Altes had eight tackles and Cole Munster had seven tackles and a sack. Vino recorded two interceptions and David Santiago and Kristian Hagelstein each had one interception. Sachem North will face the winner of No. 1 Floyd/No. 4 Longwood in the Suffolk I final at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Stony Brook University.
