South Side vs Long Beach

Long Beach 28, South Side 27: Jeff Conway had some heroic plays on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball for Long Beach. Conway made a hit in the backfield, and Jack Miller joined in on the tackle on a two-point conversion attempt on the final play of the game as Long Beach defeated South Side, 28-27, in overtime in Nassau Conference II football. Jack Lozito scored a 20-yard touchdown, his fourth of the game, in overtime for South Side before the Long Beach defense made the defensive stand on the two-point attempt. Conway ran in an 7-yard touchdown on third-and-goal in overtime after Hayden Sofield ran a quarterback sneak on fourth-and-1 from the 10-yard line for Long Beach (3-1). Conway ran in an 8-yard touchdown with five minutes left in the fourth quarter to cut South Side's lead to two points. On ensuing the two-point conversion, Conway rolled right under pressure, scrambled around and from about 10 yards in the backfield found Jack Skarren in the back of the end zone for the tying two-point conversion. Conway passed for two touchdowns and ran for two scores.
