HIGHLIGHTS
Lindenhurst 14, Bay Shore 0: Freshman Jeremy Ruckert caught his second touchdown pass from Ryan Hofmann with about five minutes left to seal it for Lindenhurst in the Division I opener for both teams. Hofmann, on a bootleg, found Ruckert in the right corner of the end zone. Lindenhurst started the drive on the 50 after Gino Bonagura recovered a fumble. Hofmann hit Ruckert on a 13-yard post corner to cap a 14-play, 87-yard drive in the opening drive of the second half. Hofman completed 10 of 23 passes for 101 yards and the two TDs. Joe Barber led Lindenhurst in rushing with 103 yards on 15 carries. Bonagura added 78 rushing yards on 11 carries and also had seven tackles and two sacks.
