HIGHLIGHTS
Plainedge rode a dominant defensive effort to a victory in the Nassau Conference III title game to capture its fifth county title and first since 2019. The Red Devils (11-0) held Bethpage (8-3) to 35 total yards of offense on 41 plays, made three interceptions and had 10 tackles behind the line of scrimmage. The Eagles only snapped the ball two times in Plainedge territory. Anthony Morello capped the defensive performance with a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown. Dylan Pepe, Travis Shaver and Shane Mosia all had rushing touchdowns for the Devils. Plaindge will meet Suffolk's East Islip in the Long Island Class III title game Friday at 4:30 p.m. at Hofstra.
