East Islip 35, Sayville 28 Derek Burrell rushed 20 times for 178 yards and 3 touchdowns including the game winning 31 yard run with 19 seconds left in the Division III final for East Islip. Burrell also completed 7 of 8 passes for 116 yards. The turning point of the game came in the third quarter when Sayville had the ball at the East Islip 1 yard line. An errant center snap was fumbled and picked up by Cooper Parkinson who returned the fumble 94 yards for a 28-21 East Islip lead. Carson Tessitore and Ryan Bayer combined on two sacks for the Redmen. This was the first Suffolk title for the Redmen since 2016 and their eighth overall. Both teams are now 10-1.This was the 150th win in Sal J. Ciampi's career. He is 150-60 in his 21 year as the coach of the Redmen. East Islip will play Plainedge in the Long Island Class III final on Friday November 26 at Hofstra University at 4:30 p.m.
