Hewlett 41, Mineola 0: Mark Winkler ran for 143 yards and a touchdown on five carries in Nassau III Friday night. His 74-yard touchdown in the second quarter gave Hewlett a 27-0 lead, followed by a John Menkes extra point. Jon Zenny rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown on six carries. His 36-yard touchdown run in the first quarter opened the scoring. Anthony Yakush returned an Evan Greenberg blocked punt 24 yards for a touchdown as part of a 27-point second quarter. Evan Greenberg, Stephen Hoffman and Mekhi Jean-Baptiste also scored rushing touchdowns for Hewlett (5-3). Ryan Player had 11 tackles and CJ Maiorano added 13 tackles to lead the Bulldogs to their third shutout of the season. Mineola is 2-6.
