Patchogue-Medford scored first when Justin Marcia-Joachim reeled in a 36-yard touchdown from Tyree Jackson in the first quarter. Justin Mason answered with a 5-yard touchdown rush in the second quarter and Dylan Magee added a 12-yard touchdown run later in the period for Riverhead (1-0). It was Riverhead's first football game since 2019.
