Commack 41, Deer Park 14: Matt Barron rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries in Commack's non-league opener. Barron's 5-yard touchdown in the first quarter gave Commack a 6-0 lead and his 30-yard score late in the fourth quarter pushed the lead to 34-14. Commack took a 21-14 lead with 11:50 left in the game when quarterback Nick Amandola threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Ott. Ryan Brady ran for 75 yards on seven carries. Amandola also ran for a 2-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Vincent Rotelli made eight tackles, including three for a loss for Commack (1-0). James Campione returned an interception 70-yards for a touchdown late in the game. Deer Park is 0-3.
