HIGHLIGHTS
Patchogue-Medford 14, Islip 6: Tyree Jackson ran in a 3-yard touchdown with 30 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter on a quarterback keeper to break a tie at 6 for Patchogue-Medford in its non-league season opener. Jonathan Allen recovered a fumble at the Islip 3-yard line with 1:30 remaining in the game to set up Jackson's touchdown. Jackson and Anthony Senecal connected for a 62-yard touchdown with six minutes remaining in the second quarter to tie the score at 6. Aidan McBride had nine tackles and an interception and Tobey Evans had an interception in the end zone in the first quarter for Patchogue-Medford. Danny Horton had five tackles and his presence at nose tackle forced multiple bad snaps for Islip, assistant coach Kieran Sweeney said.
