Wantagh 27, Roosevelt 21: Tom VonBargen scored the game-winning touchdown on a 15-yard run in overtime to lead No. 3 Wantagh past No. 6 Roosevelt in a Nassau Conference III quarterfinal. Roosevelt forced overtime after QB Idris Carter found Razir Boykin for a 5-yard touchdown with 27 seconds left to get within 21-19, then Carter hit Kayden Parker on the 2-point conversion to tie it at 21. Wantagh's Mike Lombardi broke up a fourth down pass in the endzone on the first possession of overtime to set up the game-winning score. Nick Teresky led Wantagh with 141 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, while VonBargen rushed for 106 yards on 10 carries. Lombardi rushed nine times for 57 yards and scored on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter. Wantagh (7-2) faces No. 2 Southside on Friday at Hofstra's James Shuart Stadium. Roosevelt finishes 3-6.
