Brian Eletti's 60-yard interception return set up Tucker Hahn's 2-yard touchdown run only three plays later to give Island Trees (3-5) a 13-8 lead with 10 seconds remaining in the third quarter in Nassau Division IV. Malverne's (4-4) best opportunity to regain the lead came on its ensuing possession when it drove to the Island Trees 20-yard line, before turning the ball over on downs. John Pascalli rushed for 90 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown. Eletti, who finished with two interceptions, had six carries for 54 yards, while throwing for 24 yards on 2 of 5 completions. John Nicolino finished with 12 tackles, 11 solo and an assist, and Eddie Sanchez had 11 tackles, eight solo and three assists.
