Port Jefferson 52, Greenport/Southold/Mattituck 42: Sam Florio had 33 carries for 417 yards and six touchdowns, to lead Port Jefferson (4-4) in Suffolk IV. It marked only the eighth time a Long Island player has rushed for 400+ yards and was the sixth-highest rushing performance in Long Island history, according to Newsday records. Florio also completed 6 of 9 passes for 49 yards and a touchdown. "It's just amazing what he did when he wasn't even close to 100 percent after last week," Cosci said. "To run the ball 33 as much as he did and also play defense shows his toughness level as a junior. It's very surreal and he's so excited about it." Justin Everson added 15 carries for 152 yards for the Royals. Florio's 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter extended the lead to 51-42.
