Smithtown East 38, Newfield 24: Dean Shaffer had 23 carries for 173 and three touchdowns to lead Smithtown East (3-1) in Suffolk IV. Andrew Dailey added 11 rushes for 47 yards and a score, and Kevin Melore tallied 15 rushes for 34 yards and a TD. Ali Abdul-Rassoul went 5-for-5 on PATs and kicked a 32-yard field goal to open the scoring in the first quarter. Nicholas Lardaro had two sacks, and Anthony Rizzi, Zach Shumer, Kenny Wilson each had a sack. Joe Saccone and Shaffer each had three tackles.
