West Islip 29, Bellport 28: After Bellport scored a touchdown to bring West Islip's lead down to 29-28 with three minutes remaining, the Lions stuffed the two-point conversion attempt when Kyle Haff took on the lead block on a run off-tackle and Tommy Armetta made the tackle to preserve the victory for West Islip in its Suffolk II opener. Mike LaDonna rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns with two two-point conversions on 29 carries and he passed for 60 yards and two touchdowns on 5 of 7 passing. Matt Calhoun and Pat Cunningham each had touchdown receptions in the win. LaDonna rushed for a 2-yard touchdown to give West Islip a 29-22 lead with nine minutes remaining in the game.
