Roosevelt 25, Hewlett 21: Elijah Anderson intercepted a pass at the 1-yard line for Hewlett, leading to Kevon Hall's 99-yard touchdown run, breaking multiple tackles on the play, to give Roosevelt a 25-15 lead with 6:26 remaining in the game in Nassau III. After Vincent Morello's third touchdown of the game for Hewlett cut Roosevelt's lead to 25-21 with 1:30 remaining in the game, Hewlett recovered an onside kick and the Bulldogs drove to Roosevelt's 8-yard line, before Dante Hawkins (nine tackles) made the final tackle to preserve the win for the Rough Riders (2-0). "That run saved us because literally our back was to the wall at the 1-yard line," Roosevelt coach Joe Vito said. "That was a big turning point in the game because the momentum definitely shifted." Hall rushed for 376 yards on 20 carries and four touchdowns.
