Long Beach 28, Herricks 22: Deon Ray made two pass break-ups on the final possession to stall a Herricks' drive on the Long Beach 45 to close the game for Long Beach (2-1) in Nassau I. Long Beach junior tailback Tyler Ferguson (6 carries, 132 yards) scored on a 39-yard touchdown run to give the Marines a 27-22 lead after Sam Oppenheim's PAT with about two minutes to go. Oppenheim was 4-for-4 on PATs. Joe O'Donahue caught a 5-yard pass, but fumbled the ball inside the 1. However, teammate Marquis Stephens alerlty fell on the ball for a touchdown that gave Long Beach a 21-16 lead late in the third quarter.
