Half Hollow Hills East 21, Bay Shore 13: Kendall Nero-Clark picked off a pass in the end zone on the last play of the game to preserve Hills East's win against top-seeded and host Bay Shore in both team's Suffolk II opener. Jay Spinelli capped a 15-play, 7:30-drive with a one-yard scoring run and Brandon Peskin's kick gave the Thunderbirds a 21-13 lead with 2:53 left. Bay Shore, which moved down from Suffolk I, drove to the East 20-yard line with four seconds remaining. But Nero-Clark's interception on third down ended the game. Ernesto Mitchell rushed 14 times for 110 yards and had 12 tackles to lead Hills East. Quarterback Jay Spinelli added 10 rushes for 80 yards, and was 6 of 12 passing for 80 yards with a score.
