Mercy 21, Southampton/Pierson 14: Liam Egan's goal line tackle on fourth-and-goal prevented a potential game tying touchdown as time expired to lead Mercy in its Suffolk IV league opener. Egan made six total tackles and also had six carries for 51 yards and a touchdown. Anthony Bossone had 17 carries for 106 yards and Ryan Razzano was 6-for-8 with 40 yards and a touchdown, and added 15 carries for 83 yards and a rushing touchdown. Max Beyrodt had five receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown. John Urrico led Mercy with seven tackles.
