Smithtown West 19, Newfield 12: Kyle Zawadzki ran for three touchdowns and 216 yards on 16 carries, while also completing 11 of 18 passes for 210 yards and an interception to lead Smithtown West (2-6) to an upset victory over Newfield. Zawadzki broke free for two long touchdown runs in the first quarter, scoring from 72 yards out and later topping it with an 80-yard scamper to give the Bulls a 12-0 lead. Newfield came back to tie the game at 12 with two second quarter touchdowns. The score remain knotted at 12 late in the fourth as Newfield drove into Smithtown West territory seeking the winning score before a fumble recovery by Andrew Sheahan at the Smithtown West 25-yard line with 3:30 remaining. Zawadzki then punched in a one-yard touchdown run to complete a 75-yard touchdown drive to give Smithtown West a 19-12 lead with 1:43 remaining. James Caddigan sealed the win with an interception at the Smithtown West 40-yard line with 1:15 left to go.
