West Hempstead 42, Friends Academy 21: Timmy Shanley sparked West Hempstead's Nassau IV victory with a pair of big plays. He returned the opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown, and caught Michael Matuozzi's pass for a 60-yard score that gave the Rams (2-5) a 28-14 late in the second quarter. "I would credit him for his football smarts and knowledge," assistant coach Dominick Segreto said. "They had 11 guys in the box and he was smart enough to release to the outside for the pass play. He was wide open." Anthony Galan ran 12 times for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
