Port Jefferson 8, Greenport/Southold/Mattituck 6: A successful two-point conversion on a run by Thomas Mark in the first quarter proved to be the difference in a slim victory for Port Jefferson (5-2) in Suffolk IV. Quarterback Jack Collins found Sean Griffin on a 30-yard touchdown reception for Port Jefferson's score. Collins completed 4 of 13 pass attempts for 59 yards, while also picking up seven rushing yards on four carries. Greenport/Southold/Mattituck scored on a 27-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter from Jordan Fonseca to Sean Sepenoski after recovering an onside kick to open the second half. The Porters attempted to tie the score with a two-point conversion, but failed to run it in. Two fourth quarter fumble recoveries helped seal the win for Port Jefferson, as Nick Kafeiti recovered the first with about eight minutes remaining with Greenport/Southold/Mattituck just inside Port Jefferson territory. Sean Griffin recovered another crucial fumble with less than four minutes to go at the Port Jefferson 40-yard line. Port Jefferson recovered a total of three fumbles on the night.
