Oyster Bay 7, Mineola 6: Senior outside linebacker Charles Collette sacked Mineola's Jason Eccher on a potential winning two-point conversion pass to preserve the win with about 2:20 remaining for Oyster Bay (3-1) in Nassau IV. Oyster Bay ran out the remaining time. Earlier, Eccher found Quinn Revelant with a 5-yard touchdown pass to bring Mineola within 7-6. Collette scored from one yard out with 6:27 left in the third quarter and Kevin Duke's point after attempt made it 7-0. Collette had six tackles, including four tackles for a loss. Senior defensive tackle Matt Jaronczyk had six tackles, including three for a loss. Senior linebacker Max Greenspan led the Baymen with eight tackles. Mineola had driven to the Oyster Bay 5 midway through the fourth quarter but stalled thanks to the Baymen's defense. "I think our defense rose to the occasion," coach Joe Knoll said. "We have a saying 'Anchor down', and that's just what we did. Our defense had a stellar performance." Collette came up big when Oyster Bay needed him. "He's very calm and cool under pressure," said Knoll of Collette. "He did what he had to do for us."
