Lindenhurst 20, Connetquot 6: The Lindenhurst defense continued to shine, led by Malik Grant, who had six tackles and a sack, and Andy Merkenson, who had five tackles, a forced fumble and fumble recovery. Austin Perry and Jeremy Ruckert connected on a 12-yard touchdown on a back-shoulder fade with three minutes remaining in the first quarter to give Lindenhurst (2-0) a 7-0 lead. Perry completed 11 of 18 passes for 113 yards and one touchdown and added 72 rushing yards on 10 carries. Ruckert finished with eight receptions for 80 yards and recovered a fumble. Justin Zotto and Ricky Conway each had an interception. The Bulldogs have allowed just six points in two weeks.
