HIGHLIGHTS
Carle Place 32, East Rockaway 14: Chris Kelly completed 4-of-5 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown, and also had six carries for 82 carries and a score to lead Carle Place to a Nassau-IV win over East Rockaway to open the season. Carle Place/Wheatley got out to a 14-0 lead following a two-yard touchdown run from John Derrider and a 23-yard touchdown reception by Dom Pascarella. Pascarella also tacked on 33 yards on three carries. Derrider finished with three carries for 15 yards and a score, and also recorded one catch for 15 yards and one interception. After East Rockaway cut the lead to 19-7 at the half, Carle Place/Wheatley responded with a 44-yard rushing touchdown from Kelly in the third and a 16-yard scoring run from Matt Baltzer in the fourth, extending the lead to 32-7 before a late East Rockaway score.
