Smithtown East 21, Copiague 20: Lauden Hendricks had the game-tying touchdown on a four-yard run with 3:30 minutes remaining - with Jackson McFayden's extra point proving to be the difference - to lead Smithtown East (1-1) to a Suffolk-II win over Copiague and snap a 10-game losing streak after finishing 0-9 last season. One of C.J. Perrier's four sacks forced a fumble that was recovered by Mike Dixon at the Copiague 14-yard line to set up the winning score. Smithtown East trailed 20-7 entering the fourth quarter, and cut the lead to six with an eight-yard touchdown run by Hendricks with less than nine minutes to go. Hendricks had 16 rushing attempts for 68 yards and 2 touchdowns. Smithtown East quarterback Vincent Guarino completed 6-of-21 passes for 165 yards and two interceptions. He also rushed for eight yards on two carries.
