West Hempstead 35, Island Trees 10: Bruce Gibbs carried 15 times for 140 yards and two touchdowns and Enrique McFarlane had 88 yards rushing on 17 carries and two scores as West Hempstead (4-0) overcame a 10-6 lead in Nassau IV. McFarlane and Gibbs scored on 1-yard runs and Anthony Beabrun had a 19-yard touchdown run during a 22-0 third quarter that gave Rams a 28-10 lead with 1:23 left in the third quarter. Akil Philip, Anthony Messina and his brother Vinny each had an interception in the win. Andy Benetiz had two sacks, while Harvin Gale and Christian Jean-Louis each had one sack in the victory.
