Centereach 20, Copiague 14: Rich White had 112 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries and Dieter Bartolotta had 66 yards rushing and scored from 12 yards with four minutes left in the game to lift Centereach in the Division II opener for both teams. White's second score, an 80-yard kickoff return midway through the third quarter, tied the score at 14 for Centereach. Copiague, led by Willie McFadden III with two touchdowns, had the ball with 1:42 left, but Centereach forced a turnover on downs to win it. Copiague finished with 165 yards of offense. John Mirasola had eight tackled and a forced fumble and Mike Cipolla had a fumble recovery to lead the Centereach defense.
