East Rockaway 27, Valley Stream South 13; James Tierney ran for 133 yards on 7 carries and gave East Rockaway an early lead with a touchdown with 9:30 left in the first quarter. Tierney set the tone as the team ran for over 250 yards in its Nassau IV win. East Rockaway led 14-13 at the half, but won behind shutdown defense, holding Valley Stream South scoreless in the second half. The game broke open when Danny Fusco caught a 6-yard touchdown pass from Mike DelGais to take a 20-13 lead. Leading 21-13, East Rockaway's defense forced a three-and-out and then put together a three-play 31-yard drive, ending with a 5-yard touchdown run by Scott Ovental. DelGais was 2-for-2 with 20 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 18 yards on 3 carries. Fusco ran for 60 yards on 8 carries. He had two receptions for 20 yards and a touchdown.
