HIGHLIGHTS
Ward Melville 32, Half Hollow Hills East: Jake Biro scored twice in the first quarter, one on a two-yard run and another where he made the the read, rolled right and cruised in untouched for the 14-yard score for Ward Melville (1-0) in Division I. He added two TD passes and finished 10-for-14 for 135 yards, plus another 140 yards on 12 attempts. In the third quarter, Michael Troy intercepted a pass at inside linebacker and cut across the field to score on the 23-yard return. He added nine tackles and ran 12 times for 75 yards and another touchdown on offense. The Patriots kept Hills East off the board until the fourth, courtesy of a defense led by Tom Kellerman, who had a sack and nine tackles, and L.B. Nuti, who had a sack and seven tackles.
