HIGHLIGHTS
Central Islip 14, Whitman 13: Kevin Mowatt ran for 121 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries and also returned an interception 80 yards for a score to lead Central Islip (1-1) in Suffolk II. Mowatt's 2-yard touchdown, on a toss left, gave the Musketeers a 14-7 lead with 1:38 left in the third quarter. Whitman scored a touchdown with 37 seconds left and attempted a two-point conversion, but linebacker Mike Myers intercepted the pass to seal the win for Central Islip. Defensive end Malcolm Pridgeon had 14 tackles, including three for loss.
