Shenendehowa 3, Sachem East 2: Anna Bottino scored the winner in a 1-0 shootout for Shenendehowa, which upset Sachem East, the two-time defending state champions, in the state Class A final. The loss snapped the Flaming Arrows' 50-game win streak. Kelly McKeveny and Katie Doherty had scored to give Sachem East (21-1) a 2-0 lead in the first half. The Plainsmen rallied back and tied it with 3:34 remaining en route to winning their first state championship.
