Sachem East won the last four Long Island Championships. Elizabeth Wang tied the game with 2:39 remaining in regulation after Ward Melville was down 4-1 going into halftime. "I'm beyond proud of my girls," coach Shannon Watson said. "They never gave up today. Coming back from a 4-1 halftime says a lot about their character and I couldn't be more proud of them." Kerri Thornton scored her second goal of the game with 11:03 left in the second half to cut the lead to two. Keira Alventosa scored her first of the game with 8:50 remaining to pull within a goal before Wang's equalizer. Ward Melville moves on to face No. 2 Newfield 6 p.m. Monday at Dowling College.
