Oyster Bay 76, Malverne 61: Gianna Gotti made a jumper from the right wing four minutes into the second quarter for her 2,000th point on varsity, and her 34 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists led Oyster Bay (2-4) in Nassau ABC. Gotti, a five-year varsity player and Oyster Bay's all-time leading scorer, is the 36th basketball player and the 25th girls player to reach 2,000 points, according to Newsday records. "I watched her first point on varsity, and I saw this point," coach Sandy Rossen said. "Every single one of them has been special. It was extremely emotional because she works so hard. She earned it. She's earned every single point."
