Mattituck 57, Pierson/Bridgehampton 39: Liz Dwyer's lefty bank shot with 5:00 remaining in the third quarter broke the all-time Mattituck scoring record, for both boys and girls basketball, in the Tuckers' Suffolk VII opener. "I was never aiming for the school scoring record, but it just happened," Dwyer said. "It’s a great feeling because you work at it for so long." Stephanie Pisacano set the previous record of 1,465 points in 2010. Dwyer, the fifth-year varsity player, finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals and has now totaled 1,476 points. Jane DiGregorio added eight points and seven assists for Mattituck.
