Our Lady of Mercy 53, Freeport 51: Micela Genua's layup with a minute left in the game gave Our Lady of Mercy (5-2) a 50-48 lead in the first round of the Freeport Tournament. Genua had a game-high eight assists. Lauren Hammersley led all scorers with 29 points and Julia Ewen totaled 11 points and 14 rebounds for the Mustangs. Maya Thomas led Freeport with 16 points. Our Lady of Mercy will face the winner of MacArthur/St. Dominic 1 p.m. Thursday, at Freeport High School.
