St. John the Baptist 64, St. Dominic 62: Gianna Locker made two free throws with 30 seconds left in double overtime to lead the St. John the Baptist girls basketball team in its 64-62 win over St. Dominic in CHSAA yesterday. Locker, who hit a three-pointer with two minutes left in double overtime to give St. John the Baptist a 62-60 lead, scored her 1,000th point and finished with 11 points, five rebounds and two assists. Trailing by two in overtime, St. John the Baptist's Emily Meyer grabbed an offensive rebound but was fouled hard on her putback attempt with 0.1 seconds left. Michaela Mowat replaced her at the foul line and made both free throws to force double overtime. Bridgette Moran led St. John the Baptist (2-2) with 27 points and 13 rebounds. Janine Conway added 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Amanda Kelly (30 points) and Skye Burris (20 points) kept St. Dominic close.
