Floral Park 72, Friends Academy 42: Junior Kaela Hilaire scored 13 points, including a three-pointer in the second quarter that put her over 1,000 career points, and had 14 assists to lead Floral Park (2-0) in non-league. Hilaire, a fifth-year varsity guard, became only the second player in Floral Park history to score 1,000 points, according to coach Michael Spina. "We're trying to find an identity and having Kaela makes the job a lot easier. She can score, she can pass and she has great hands on defense. She's a court leader - there are days when she finds everyone else open even when she's not scoring or when teams try to stop her."
