Lynbrook 68, Island Trees 23: Kaitlyn Benedict had 24 points on eight three-pointers - a program record, according to coach Koren Pena - and eight assists to lead No. 1 Lynbrook over No. 8 Island Trees in the quarterfinals of the Nassau Class A playoffs. Sophia Dwyer had 13 points, five assists, 10 steals and four rebounds. Mackenzie Casey had 11 points, eight rebounds, two steals and a block. Lynbrook will play the winner of No. 4 Wantagh/No. 5 Mineola in the semifinals on Feb. 29 at Farmingdale State. Kelsey Reifer had 13 points for Island Trees, which finished 14-8.
