East Islip 65, Sayville 58: Sara Simonetti led all scorers with 21 points in a Suffolk III semifinal. Meghan Garnett added 13 points and 13 rebounds and Mimi Pasha had thirteen points and four steals. Jess Peluso had 12 points and twelve rebounds, her fifth double-double of the season. It was the first time this season that East Islip had four scorers in double digits. The win marked the first time since 2003-04 that East Islip has recorded playoff wins in back-to-back seasons, according to coach Mike Petre. East Islip (6-0) has won five games in the last seven days and host Kings Park in the finals Sunday. Sayville's Dominique Rinaldi scored twelve of her team high fourteen in the second half.
